I’m Nina,

a designer with over 10 years experience working with organisations and diverse communities to solve complex problems and drive meaningful social change. I’ve worked both in-house and as a consultant across the non-profit and public sector.

I believe in the power of collaboration, creativity and brave decision-making to deliver bolder and better futures for society. I’m known for my big laugh, quiet candour and that I care deeply about the work I do and the people I work with.

What I do

Design strategy

I work with leadership and service delivery teams, taking a human-centred approach to strategy that is shaped by multiple voices, diverse perspectives and centred within wider systems.

Embedding design thinking into strategy helps solve real problems with solutions that work. This improves experiences, creates growth and delivers impact for users in line with organisational goals.

Service Design

I apply collaborative methods to understand, design, test and develop opportunities with those delivering and using services.

We need services that are effective, efficient and meaningful: services that work better for people and operations that are sustainable. Service design can help organisations think differently about how they deliver value and meet human needs.

C0-design

I use creative and participatory methods to facilitate deep understanding of a problem, shape solutions and share power and decision-making.

Designing with communities, and not for them, enables the discovery of new opportunities, innovative ideas and better outcomes that work within real contexts and existing systems and structures of power.

Leadership

I challenge leadership teams to think in new and different ways. I lead multidisciplinary teams and work with senior stakeholders to shape direction and approaches to create positive change.

Support

I provide design support as an expert practitioner. Whether that’s getting stuck into the doing, ensuring the quality of research and design or providing strategic direction - I work with existing teams to understand how and where to add value.

Capability building

I grow and embed design capabilities in organisations. I coach and mentor teams or individuals, provide training and help create the conditions for effective design. I bring people along the journey.
